Jaredan began dancing in 1997. He has been social dancing and actively working to develop dance communities ever since. In 2005, Jaredan along with other Memphis dancers, founded Red Hot Lindy Hop. Jaredan teaches Lindy Hop, Balboa and Charleston classes for Red Hot Lindy Hop. He also choreographs and teaches routines to the Red Hot Lindy Hop dance team. His choreography generally focuses on musicality, partner connection and a flow of movement, similar to his social dancing. Jaredan attributes his greatest advancements to social dancing. His personal dance concepts center around the ideas of continuation of motion, and social dancing as a three a way conversation between the lead, the follow and the music. The extensive experience he has gained by attending events through out the U.S. has fine-tuned his technique and concepts about leading and following. He has also studied under some of the most distinguished names in Lindy Hop and Balboa, including his introduction to Lindy Hop from Frankie Manning.

Jaredan has been DJing swing music for over 10 years. He is one of the staple DJs for Red Hot Lindy Hop's weekly dances in Memphis. His taste in music ranges from 1920's to present day with a special love for small to medium combos with a New Orleans sound. Jaredan always says that dance is a three way conversation between two dancers and the music. Each part having input into the conversation and each needing to listen to the others. Always on the lookout for new music that moves him, he loves to introduce dancers to new songs, but keeps a solid mix of the old favorites mixed in too. While he may prep for a gig, Jaredan always lets the music and the floor guide him to the next song. He rarely has more than a few songs picked out in advance. He has spent more time then he would like to think about organizing his music collection giving him the ability to react quickly to changes on the floor.
